Sun Dec 01, 2002 8:10 am

I mean the media is bad with airline news but take a look at this photo of an USAirways A321.

Man, the media is worse than I thought. How do they confuse a Us Airways A321 with an Aeroflot 767?  Nuts

Well, both airlines are inefficient, bloated bureacracies with incompetent management. I could confuse their corporate cultures....if not their liveries!

 Laugh out loud

I dumped at the gybe mark in strong winds when I looked up at a Porter Q400 on finals. Can't stop spotting.

Wow! This isn't some nerdy airliners thing like they put a A320 instead of an A321, they really goofed. It's not that hard to tell the difference between Us Airways and Aeroflot.

For what it's worth, as a reporter and college newspaper editor, I can tell you that the quality of writing and reporting in this article is sub-par. I guess the photo error figures...

Makes you wonder if the story is even valid, doesn't it?

It's not that they don't know the difference between an Aeroflot 767 and a USAir A321, but that they don't care.

It's an airline story, so they simply pulled an airliner file photo. Their attitude is that any photo showing an airliner will do because it wasn't the airliner, nor the airline, that made news. It was the sick passenger on an airline flight. Lacking a photo of the plane itself, or the sick passenger, they opt for a generic airline file photo. Maybe they use the Aeroflot 767 for every generic airline story like this one. That's the extent to which they care about what photo they use.

But does the public care about the plane in the photo? Probably not.

Last I checked...Aeroflot is profitable and have really put things together. US Airways is well...slowly getting things in line. Either way, Aeroflot is not what they use to. If I remember correctly, AW&ST had a story on them a few weeks back that explained their turn around.

Oh my, this is pathetic  Smile/happy/getting dizzy

Once on a local tv station here they were talking about Delta's Olympic 777-200 and they went to the SLC to show it but instead they showed a normal Delta 767-300 taking off into the sun in a way that you couldnt even tell if it was in special colors.

When did USAirways upgrade their service product to Aeroflot's high standards? Way to go, Seigel!!!!!!

I do not like the way in which the headline is worded "emergency brings plane down" makes it sound more like a crash than a routine medical diversion. Hope the passenger was OK.

This Just In.

EMERGENCY BRINGS PLANE DOWN: AGAIN!!!!!

A USAirways 737-400 has just made an emergency landing because of an on-board emergency with the Number 3 Engine. The Twin-Jet was on its way from PHL to BWI as she diverted to MCO. The 737-400 made a landing at Orlando Sanford on its way to MIA. The Emergency is not quite clear as we have our sources down in LAX trying to figure out what happened. Here is a picture of the USAirways 737-400 in the maintenance hangar at SFO.

Keep in mind WINS is a radio station- attention to the visual details is a really new thing to them, although I have to say this is a really big mistake even a $6 / hr intern should not make.

Nah....just a US Air 767-300 in early 1990's livery, reflecting the carrier's service and standards for excellence at the time!

Hi!

Sorry I forgot to tell you that I was reading the "Izvestia" daily newspaper this morning and they said Aeroflot is now going ahead in some US Air routes, the american airline is dropping those from their network! Next week it will be started a new ex: USAir route from CLT to STL with TU134A's, a really classic style service with vodka and caviar!!!!
