3 AF Jets At MIA Today

Mon Dec 02, 2002 1:40 pm

Arrived on AA1999 90 minutes late from Newark today, and in Concourse A I saw the usual AF A320 overnighting at the gate for a flight to Port-Au-Prince tomorrow, and an AF 744 operating the late CDG flight just taxing into the gate. However, while leaving the airport, I saw an AF A340 parked alongside the permiter fence. An A340 usually operates the afternoon MIA-CDG flight. It is a long shot, but anyone know why it is just sitting there (with some maintence trucks alongside it)?

Being the geek that I am, late this evening, I was doing a flight status check on the internet on all the flights leaving the US stations...they still hadn't changed the 'estimated time of departure' which was already 15 mins. late, so I assume something technical must have happened...normally they do not do any towing.

The AF744 operates 3x weekly with a late departure.

Bonjour Chef!
