When it comes to airplanes, you usually get what you pay for. That bird might need all new engines (if it even has any currently), a D check, etc. Its probably not good for anything but spare parts and scrap metal.

Flyf15 is probably right, it has runout engines and needs a D check. About 3 million worth. I can buy a 727 in that range with a fresh C and Stage III.

I am still waiting for my numbers to hit the powerball jackpot, then I will give you the $ and we can pick up A.NET people all around the world; I need to build my jet time anyhow...

Forget flying it...I think a retired L-1011 or B-747 would make a helluva cool nightclub!!!  Big grin

Break it up into segments, truck it to your vacant lot, reassemble the component parts, and start outfitting it for life as a bar!

I can see it now..."The Fly-By-Night" or something like that!

I'll go for the Fly-By-Night. And a fresh 727 with C-check and Stage III.

If I had that type of money, I would turn one of those into a home and live in it.

A friend of mine (the drummer from Bad Manners, ska fans) was going to buy a DC10 and turn it into a recording studio, take the tops off the wings and turn the fuel tanks into swimming pools, accessible from doors 3L & R. The plan, if you'll forgive the pun, didn't get off the ground but I thought it was an inspired idea.

And if you were to pay 695K for a Tristar just to tuen it into a home/nightclub/restaurant I'd laugh my ass off. I have a friend that can get you a widebody (747/D10/L10/AB3) as is, where is for about $15,000. Just paln on spending another 50K to take it apart and transport it. Continental US only.

You know, thinking about it, how much floorspace would you get with a Tristar?

I am remembering back to that fellow in Oregon who converted/is converting that old Olympic 727 into a house.
