Question On Canadian Airports

Tue Dec 10, 2002 11:49 am

Hi, I am aware of Canada's top 8 airports are YYZ, YVR, YUL, YYC, YEG, YOW, YHZ and YWG, but what comes after YWG in terms of passenger volume. I am unable to fing it! Is it YYJ? YXE? YQR? YQB??? Can someone tell me Canada's top 15 or 20 airports in terms of passenger volume?

Thanks in advance

After YWG, I know for sure it's YYJ. Though not 100% certain it goes something like this afterwards: YLW, YXE, YYT (will probably surpass YXE & YLW soon), YQR, YQB, YHM (which will probably surpass YYJ next year), YMX (for another year or so), YQT, YQM, YXX, YXU, YXS, YZF.

After YZF, you get all the airports in the 150-250K pax range like YXY, YAM, YSB, YQG, YTS, YFC, YSJ, YDF, YYG and probably YMM is in that range now too.

I don't know about passenger traffic, but I know that airport movement, YKZ has a lot of movement. YKZ is buttonville, for those who don't know, they have so many flights a day landing and taking off. Seneca College uses that airport for training, and i can't count the number of SC aircraft I saw while attending to a flat tire on the Barron 55 i was co-piloting that day. If I am no mistaken SC has like 10 or so aircraf and atleast 5 are up all of the time!!

Plus the other traffic...!!

YKZ also has Bearskin Airlines, although they probably don't account for more than an hour's worth of traffic at YYZ, hehehe

Gmonney, I didn't realize that you flew! I presume you didn't log the co-pilot time, right?
buhh bye

Much like Buttonville you can't count out Springbank (CYBW) west of Calgary as a airport with an extensive number of aircraft movements, also mainly due to training aircraft.

Hi guys, thanks a lot for the info, it helped me a lot!

Gmonney and C172Akul, I know what you guys mean, Montreal's St. Hubert airport has plenty of aircraft movements, but 99.9% of those movements are of either sports charters or general aviation aircrafts.
