AA Is First With Flights From New FAT Building Wed

Fri Dec 13, 2002 3:14 am

AA got a jump on the competition in Fresno by being the first airline to operate flights from FAT's concourse expansion. That means AA was also the first airline to ever operate a flight using a jetway at FAT.

The first departure was a FAT-DFW that departed Fresno at 6:45 am Wednesday. The first arrival was a DFW-FAT at 1:45 pm.

Work on the building remains but other airlines should begin operating from the concourse in the coming weeks.

With Fresno continuing to show passenger counts higher than in 2001 and 2000, along with the opening of the additional gates, watch for announcements of new service at FAT in 2003 by 2 or 3 airlines currently not in the market.
