Air India 144/5 Load Factors

Sun Dec 15, 2002 10:31 am

Does anyone know approximately the load factors of this new flight of Air India? Also has anyone personally seen them come in or be at EWR? One more thing, Does anyone know which terminal it arrives? Terminal B (I presume) and it departs out of Terminal A? Reason for this is cuz my mom put Terminal C down in an email to a friend but personally, I know that it is wrong.

AI 144/145 is oversold in both directions every day through January 15.

I heard it was oversold in both directions through March. How do you know it is oversold through January 15? I assume that AI is very happy with it's new destination of Newark?

You heard wrong. The AI systems showed no oversale (yet) for AI 144 EWR-CDG-BOM on Jan 15, but oversales for all dates before then. February flights were wide open for every single date, so I have no clue how anyone could have come up with March. What was your source for this info?

No. There are no meals served for security reasons.

The local Hindu/Indian programming on TV (Yes, we have Hindu/Indian programming in New Jersey) said the fligh was sold out through mid January. Also said that they were extremely satisfied with the route and might look to increase to 4x weekly.

I believe that there is a Hindu/Indian Party. In fact a large amount of Gujarati's live in Rockaway. Before I moved, I was living in Randolph, NJ just about 20-25 mins from EWR and we had a nice size of Indians but going down to Iselin was a treat!

Actually, the rumor doing the rounds in BOM is daily ops from June, possibly with service through FRA on some days of the week. The most interesting part is that JFK traffic has not suffered at all, either in current or future bookings meaning that AI is drawing traffic away from other carriers on this route rather than splitting their existing market share. Whereas ORD ops took about 2 years to reach breakeven, the EWR flights have come out of the gate in style.

Among the Indian kids I go to school with, Iselin is known as Hindu Harlem.  Smile

What are the initial reviews on the new premium cabins on the AI 747-400 aircraft?

So far only ESM has the First Class seats and she's only flown 4 RTs to the US (plus some Gulf turns) since then, so there aren't many reviews to be had yet. I'm waiting to see if she gets put on a convenient BOM-DEL leg sometime soon and I'll nonrev up on her to check 'em out.
