2nd Terminal At Dub?

Mon Dec 16, 2002 7:03 am

Forgive me if this has been posted before.

I saw an article in yesterday's Times (London) that Ryanair are considering building their own terminal at the Dublin airport. They're apparently tired of negotiating with Aer Rianta for additional space, and have set their sights on the land presently occupied by Aer Lingus' offices and smaller hangars.

The article said the terminal could contain up to 25 airbridges, and ramp parking for even more aircraft. Other airlines would be allowed to use the facility - and apparently Aer Lingus are on board with the proposed site!

I'm not from Ireland, so I was hoping some others could enlighten me on this issue? Do you think this will ever happen? The Dublin airport has always struck me as under-sized (at least in the photos I've seen of it.)
