Facilities At CTS And NRT

Fri Dec 20, 2002 4:48 pm

Hi... I'm travelling to Japan soon and had some questions about Sapporo and Tokyo airports.

Sapporo (Chitose)
Any particular gate the CX flight parks at? Are double bridges fitted to gates? Is there a long walk to passport control - any people mover train required? How efficient is Japanese immigration?

Tokyo (Narita)
Same as the first two questions above.

Thanks in advance!

Only have been at NRT so far. I don't know if CX had a "fixed" gate there, I don't think so. When I arrived with MAS from KUL we had to take a people mover train to get to immigration. Immigration seems to be quite efficient. On the other side customs seems to be a little big more strict. I had a Amsterdam duty free bag from another trip with me and then they asked me if I have any drugs with me. They also showed me a booklet with a lot of different things you are prohibited to take with you into Japan (drugs, weapons, ivory etc) and he asked me to point on that what I have with me. I didn't have anything with me and I told him that and we continued without any problems ...
