ATA L1011 MSY-HNL Nonstop!

Sun Dec 22, 2002 2:39 pm

The Tulane University football team departed New Orleans a couple of days ago on the wings of an ATA L1011 nonstop for Honolulu. They are playing the U of Hawaii in the Hawaii Bowl. How ironic eh?
I wanna say that this was the first ever MSY-HNL nonstop...certainly the first one I've ever heard about.

disregarding headwinds (which is of course an unrealistic assumption), the 4200mi flight should take 7.75-8hr each way.

N163AT used exactly 9:15 on the trip. Airborne 0728Z, on the ground 16:43Z.
