VG Airlines At Yul?

Thu Jan 02, 2003 8:38 am

Hi all,
I was returning to YOW from Paris this afternoon, via YUL, and noticed a number of VG 330s on the tarmac. Anyone know what they're doing there?

There are 3 of them lined up beside each other at the Air Canada hangar.
They've been there for a few weeks. They were supposed to be moving on to a new carrier in France called "L'AIR" but apparently the start-up has faltered.
Some Canadian financial institution was to provide the airlines capital which explained the aircraft's presence at YUL.
It would appear to be unknown what's going to happen now.

I heard that they were in YUL for C checks from Air Canada...not because some Canadian company was backing the startup...

The 3 Delsey's were indeed undergoing C-checks....

Like said above, L-Air's start up has been cancelled, so the 3 birds are looking for a new carrier...

Who's going to pay for the C checks ?
I doubt AC is going to start any work until they're assured of being paid by somebody. VG/Delsy is dead and L'air looks like it's stillborn.
What a mess.
