I wonder if it'll be the same story as in JAX where fares on the new JetConnect flights look to be consistantly higher....

Probably not, because JAX is a horrible city, and no one really cares about them...

"I wonder if it'll be the same story as in JAX where fares on the new JetConnect flights look to be consistantly higher.... "

I wouldn't doubt it since there are less seats and the fact that the costs for the Rjs are higher...What I think is actually happening is there are less seats to offer are the lower fares so they are snatched up quicker thus leaving the higher fares left to sell....

Is AirTran JetConnect acting more as a feed or more for O/D purposes??? Maybe Ryan can answer this question.

Ry

Jason....how's JU?? still holdin' it's own down there?

Funny... I actually spent my time and money to go and give AirTran a chance. I'm doing so again next month in an effort to fly the B717/CRJ and finish out the fleet.

JetConnect is doing a little from column A and column B.

It is freeing up routes that we want to keep, but do not want to put a 717 on so that we may use the 717 elsewhere.

And cities such as SAV, which when it went to JC flights had two DC-9s a day that were never full, and now have 4 RJ's a day which are 90% full.
I wouldn't expect to see any new cities announced geared only at the RJ, yet at least.

I wouldn't be surprised to see JAX getting one RJ. The loads are very light during normal times. DC-9s are leaving with around 40-60 pax with three flights a day. Mostly only full around a holiday...

JAX is getting a fifth daily flight through the addition of a CRJ in late afternoon.
