El Al On Domestic US Flights?

Sat Jan 04, 2003 6:54 pm

Hello everyone,

I was searching for domestic flights inside the United States for my holidays in March/April and just found this "strange" connection:

LY8092 ATL -JFK 2.00 p.m

Is El Al Israel Airlines really serving this routes? I think that can be a code share flight, but with what airline? Delta maybe?

Thanks for your help.

Greetings
Tobi

Most likely a code share, as I know that EL AL does not fly ATL-JFK. They do however, fly LAX-JFK.

Its a code share flight operated by DL.
It is good for INTL ONLINE CONNEX TRAFFIC ONLY.

LY does not operate anymore between LAX and JFK/EWR, not on its own and not by NAA.

LAX services now being operated via YYZ with 777s.
5th freedom rights for LY on it's LAX-YYZ-LAX route.

BTW, at the US and Canada, LY offers connecting flights which are operated by DL (JFK-SEA, LAX, SFO, SLC, DFW and more) and also AC (YYZ-YUL, YVR, BOS, ORD, SFO).
All the above sectors are good for Intl pax coming from/to TLV.

El Al does operate intra-US flights during the summer. They fly JFK-MIA with a 744 and EWR-MIA with a 772. Of course, they cannot sell tickets for the NYC-MIA legs.

No non-US airlines can carry US domestic passengers.

I dumped at the gybe mark in strong winds when I looked up at a Porter Q400 on finals. Can't stop spotting.
