Weather In Northern France (CDG)

Mon Jan 06, 2003 12:57 am

Hello everyone-

Just wondering if anyone can give us the scoop on weather in Paris for 04 January and 05 January.

I know there was snow at CDG on the 4th that paralysed operations at the airport...many trans-atlantic flights were cancelled and a lot of intra-Europe flights were cancelled as well.

How about today, 05 January? Neither of our 2 flights to Boston (BOS) have left yet!!! I am starting to get sick of these irregularities. LOL.

Bonjour Steph-

Why!?

I would have a hard time believing that it is because they are "trying to return to normal".

I leave for work in 20 minutes lol...

It's going to be a looooong day.

Many flights were cancelled yesterday, today runway 08R is closed, and there are irregular flights, for example British Airways 747-400, 777, 767...

Some flights are diverted to Orly.

Everything's all right  Wink/being sarcastic

I will be at the airport for a long time today!!!

ETA AF332 about 18h23 for an originally scheduled 15h15 -- give a 2h10min turnaround...
ETA AF322 about 19h36 for an originally scheduled 17h45 if he leaves at his ETD from CDG...then give a 2h20min turnaround...

Amities,

I know that Continental flight 10 arrived on time this morning, but flight 11 (same aircraft) left almost 3 hours late, so there is something going on with weather etc as there were no mechanicals on the flight

Try to check your flight on ADP site :

http://query.adp.fr/adpv3/fr/pax/hor/index.adp

From Air France site :

In consequence of strong snow falls on the North of France, having involved the prolonged closing of the Charles de Gaulle and Orly airports, the program of the flights was strongly disturbed
Saturday January 4th on the afternoon.

Air France intends to ensure gradually the return to the normal of its exploitation on Sunday, January 5th.

We invite you to consult our "Flight Information" section before leaving.

I'm amazed to see the "French organization"... This is a shame for France.

The snow falls that occurred in PARIS were not that exceptional.

Nothing can justify such a mess.

They should take lessons in Scandinavia, Switzerland, Austria, Luxembourg...

Those snow falls are not exceptional... For Belgium.
Please, keep in mind that the last time such a 'severe' (I know, it is not *that* severe) snow fall occurred in Paris was 3 years ago. And, like this one, it just lasted for one day.

But of course, one would expect Aeroport de Paris to have the same snow fighting capabilities as Amsterdam... It would be as expecting MIA to be prepared for a snow storm...

Antoine - by the way, I flew in the snow today. Fun

Flying Belgian

it's very funny to see you make comments about "french organization"....
at least by normal weather we still have airlines flying contrarily to some countries

nothing can justify such a mess at ex-Sabena, ex-VG and ex-Delsey but hey dude, things happen....
