A Way Around Delta.com

Wed Jan 08, 2003 10:31 am

I am booking a trip from TUL-IAH 7/10-7/17, and would perfer not to go via DFW on DL. Is there anyway I can get Delta to book me through ATL instead? All Delta.com gives me is DFW flights. Thanks in advance! -- Scott

It really depends on if there is service from TUL to ATL, and I'm guessing there's minimal, if any. The airline will route you through the closest city.

Nope, you're out of luck . . . you have to go through DFW, sorry.

Scott,
Is there a reason you have to use the website?? If not just call them and the routing should be available. The website usually gives you the most cost effective means of travel..If you have to use the website, you could use the multiple destinations feature to see what it spits out at you price wise.

Atlanta is almost 3 hours out of your way if not more.

I don't think there's much service, anyhoo.

Or go to multiple city destination, and do TUL-ATL, ATL-IAH. Of course the price may be higher, especially if there are only a few flights from TUL...

What's wrong w/ going through DFW? Why not take CO to IAH? or NW through MEM or AA through DFW?

Multiple cities will only increase the cost. Scott4AA, are you paying for your ticket or using miles - miles would favor your excursion more.

Did you really mean IAH, Houston?

TUL/IAH is less than $200. Were you after the FF miles, or the experience? Are you making the trip alone? Delta is less likely to route though on your desired trip based on your age.

See if you can save up and coax a relative to accompany you on a one/two day trip somewhere . . . keep an eye on the Internet, lots of cheap flights.

Good luck!

Is it worth $300 to you? That's the best fare I can find off Delta.com. You'll have to go to "multi stop" reservations and get it there. It's $180 thru DFW and $480 thru ATL. Surely you weren't expecting them to fly you halfway accross the country and back for a hundred and eighty bucks....

Hi all its Leo again.

Have you tried using Expedia. com or Travelocity. If you type in TUL-IAH and put in your dates, and specifically choose DL you will get to go through ATL for a muchg higher price. What about CVG?
