Delta April Schedule Is Up And Running

Sun Jan 12, 2003 10:37 am

Just wanted to pass this along. Have fun browsing!

For all the New Orleans folks here, looks like MSY will have 8 out of 10 ATL nonstops on 767's, and we'll get a 4th CVG nonstop, in addition to the previously announced DFW expansion.

Yes, this is correct for ROC flight on CRJ-700 to ATL and MD-88 to ATL, too. It is on the timetable book for myself. They are improve need service for Rochester, NY flight get more passengers to chance fly out there, too. This is must to be get best on-time on Delta.

Some changes from Dallas/Ft.Worth:

1) NO 767's scheduled to ATL, MCO, or SLC....very sad to see this...I haven't found 1 767 flight from DFW yet....

2) 737-300's nonstop to SEA and SFO

3) LAX and LAS lose all 757 and 767 flights, now all M88's, M90, and 738's

4) Short-range flights or around 500 miles or less 500 miles are now mostly CRJ's

5) DEN, AUS, SAT lose mainline service

DFW is losing all big jet DL service. Thats why you wont find a 767 flight from DFW. it is all RJ.

I'm wondering, since a lot of 757 routes are being converted to RJ or other, where are all the 757s going??? I know they are not parking them....

You're not going to see any DL aircraft larger than a 738 in DFW anymore. As for the 757s, thirty six of them are going toward the new LoCo carrier that will supposedly be called "Song"

DFW isn't converting completely to RJ... but a lot of it.

I remember flying an L-1011 DFW-LAX when I was 5 or so, and a 762 DFW-MCO when I was probably 10.

You'll still see Delta 757's into DFW....but only to ATL, MCO, and SLC as of April. I can possibly see LAX eventually getting one back and maybe LAS, since those routes have historically had very high load factors.

Take a look at DEN-DFW.

Connections are great going west (to DEN) out of DFW but almost all the DEN-DFW fligths going into banks that depart west.

Atcboy73,

If you look closely, you'll see that most of the banks at DFW are now omni-directional to a degree. Only two banks are fully directional, I believe.

Looks like one of San Diego's 2 flights to DFW has been downgraded from an MD-90 to a MD-88, and the time changed so it departs approx. an hour earlier, at 11:45AM. Likewise, the 10:20AM flight to SLC has been downgraded from a MD-90 to a 737-300.

SAN still has three 767-300 flights; two to ATL in the morning, and one to CVG at approx. 11AM.

No they pulled the MD-11 off the DFW-ATL route last month. Im pissed I really wanted to fly it.
I remember the good ol days DL1264 DFW-ATL L1011 always took off on 17R around 8:30pm. I even took a 767-300 to PBI 767-200 to FLL 757 to MIA a long time ago. I wanted to try the 767-400, but not anymore. This just confirms my conclusion. DFW sucks.

According to Delta's web page, there are 3 B767-300's running between
DFW-ATL.

DL 1066
DL 0382
DL 1264

Not sure if this is correct, but one would have to assume if it's on the
Delta.com it would be correct. I pulled up these flights for Fri, Apr. 4th.

You know, I would have imagined that the MD-90 would have been a good choice for DL to DEN all a long, especially during the summer. Its a much more powerful aircraft.

I guess its more important to fly it to short-runway noise-restricted airports first.

I haven't done much in the way of spotting since moving back here from DCA (Gravelly Point makes it a joy to do, and I could do some from my roof) but I might drive out there to see it. I've only seen an MD-90 once or twice.

How can you see Delta's full schedule? Im using their timetable, and it wont let you select the 'all airports' option like AA, CO, and UA's timetables.

MY BAD!

The new schedule doesn't start til April 6th. No Widebody's even to ATL.

If anyone happens to visit DFW, checkout DCI's new ramp tower being built ontop of the new "SKYTrain" station on the south end of Terminal E.

With Delta mainline going to 12 mainline gates, Delta mainline should move there entire operation out to the satelite terminal (gates 22-30) and gates 33-38. Let DCI move to the main terminal gates 03, 07-32.

The only change at BOS was that the DFW and SLC flights are all 738s now. Some had been 757s. No change occurred at MHT (still 2 mainline to CVG, 3 mainline to ATL, and two Comair to CVG).

BDL-ATL has one flight go from a 763 to a 762, and BDL-CVG has a 763 go to a 757. No changes at PVD or PWM.

Getting about 9 767's into LGA, and about 15 757's... We're losing a few 738's though, mainly from ATL and CVG...

ATL-JFK is no longer M11 in April, instead 763's.. oh well

we went from 5 757's a day to 7 757's a day in PHL, however still no 767's. Haven't seen them here since 1999.

The 732's are coming back into ATL. One of the flights from Jackson, Mississippi (where I grew up) to my current hometown of Atlanta will be a 732.

Also, CVG-CDG will be a 777, while the Air France operated flight will be A330.

No evidence of the IATA announced 2 dailies to ZRH, AMS, MXP.

DFW is clearly where the big changes happened. Some markets lost a lot of capacity. DFW-DEN went from 3x mainline to 3 RJ's which is a huge drop in capacity. Other markets fared much better like DFW-JAN which went from 3x RJ to 4x RJ and 1x CR700. The biggest loser was probably TXK which lost all service to DFW and will no longer be in the DL network. DFW-ONT and DFW-DCA are being converted from mainline to CRJ700, I'm sure that will annoy some SkyMiles members who used to upgrade on those routes.

I'm pretty happy as PNS will be picking up a fourth flight to DFW, so for us it was a win.

FlyPNS1,

DFW-DEN went from 3x mainline to 3 RJ's which is a huge drop in capacity.

Actually it went to 4x RJ's which is still a big capacity drop.

Just to clarify, only the DFW-DEN segment is 3x mainline. DEN-DFW is 2x mainline. That 3rd DFW-DEN flight I believe operates DFW-DEN-SLC which is why there is no 3rd return trip.
