TWA, SFO-CDG, 1987?

Sat Jan 18, 2003 12:41 pm

I recently watched a Roman Polanski film called "Frantic" which takes place in Paris and is about a San Francisco surgeon travelling to Paris whose wife is kidnapped within hours of their arrival. TWA flight 862 is repeatedly mentioned in the early part of the film, as SFO-CDG. Did TWA ever really operate a direct nonstop flight from San Francisco to Paris, or was flight 862 operating via JFK?
The film was made in 1987.

In reality the flight stopped in Boston before continuing on to CDG. TWA sure got a plug in that film!

Thank you. Yes, I believe TWA's nonstop flight from BOS to CDG operated as TWA flight 810/811. It was flown with a 767-200 at that point.
