New Jersey Devils Plane

Sat Jan 18, 2003 4:37 pm

Do the New Jersey Devils have a 727 with the registration N727NY?

I saw a 722 with that reg flying into EWR on passur.com and it was coming from RDU. The Devils did play the Carolina Hurricanes tonight.

I believe that the Rangers 737 is N737NY

N727NY is the Hurricanes' plane...But on the TV broadcast of the game last night, it was mentioned that the two teams flew together in the 'Canes' plane up to Jersey for tonite's game...which is interesting considering the intense rivalry between the two teams...

How did the Devils get down there?

Yeah could you imagine the Detroit Red Wings and the Colorado Avalanche on the same plane?

Sounds like the good ol days when the Big 6 used to ride on the same train when they had home and home series... I could just picture a Detroit/Montreal series with Gordie Howe and Maurice Richard on the same train (those two hated each other)

The Devils "usually" fly out of Teterboro on chartered DC-9s, sometimes from Midwest Express.

The Canes plane was definitely EWR bound about 11:30pm last night.

I guess I would think that Steinbrenner would get the Devils their own plane or share with the Yankees, because don't the Yankees have their own plane?

I believe the Yankees use Continental airlines for charters.

I remember seeing pictures of the Yankees having a 737-200 for a plane, but this could have been a while ago.
