Yesterday at 08.05 cet. stood an Airbus on the rwy ready for T/O. The carrier was Flight AZ2021 with 168 pax on board on it's way to Rome.
The crew made there last checks while standing on the rwy and the checks took longer time then the ATC thought it would take.
On approach was also a private Cessna 525, but even due to this fact, the AZ flight got T/O clearence from the tower!
At 80 knots the tower told the AZ to abort the T/O and the pilot slammed the brakes and went off the rwy.
This was "just" a close call, but didn't they learn anything from SAS tragedy back in 2001, I can wonder.
