LH-Flights Munich - Beijing In June 2003

Lufthansa inaugerates 3 flights/week at June 30th. This flights starts to the opening from the new terminal 2. The flights are operated with A 343 at Mo, We, Sa at 9:05pm.

great news!
but still not that surprising since it was rumored for a while. checked LH´s infoflyway and other engines to look if there were additional flights from MUC this schedule, and nothing showed up except for the current intercont destinations. they must have uploaded this service just within the least hours...

Looks like Lufthansa trying to achieve their 4x daily flight between Germany and China!

My prediction was right!
A while ago there was a post about new routes that Lufthansa is considering from MUC. Those included PEK, MIA, and DEN.

Ok, the current summer schedule (LH longhaul ex MUC looks like this):
LH410 MUC-JFK daily
LH424 MUC-BOS Xe4
LH432 MUC-ORD daily
LH452 MUC-LAX daily
LH458 MUC-SFO daily
LH714 MUC-NRT Xe3
LH726 MUC-PVG daily
LH730 MUC-HKG Xe1
plus
LH(718 or 722 I guess) MUC-PEK 146
That means at least 9 A340-300 (if not 10) will be needed in the summer at MUC.

The up to date LH intercont destinations from Munich in summer 2003 (beginning Apr. 1st) are:
MUC JFK daily
MUC BOS 6x/week
MUC ORD daily
MUC LAX daily
MUC SFO daily
MUC PVG daily
MUC HKG 6x/week
MUC NRT 6x/week
MUC PEK 3x/week beginning June 30th
I don't believe that LH inaugerates other intercont. destinations for the summer timetable. For GRU (GIG) the economically situation in Brazil is to bad.
On the other hand it is necessary to publish new flights approximately 1/2 year in front of the beginning.
LH announced a surprise to the opening of the new terminal 2, but it was a secret. To date the MUC-PEK flight isn't a official announcement from LH. This flight was found by enthusiast from munich airport on the LH-Timetable.
