They're back in operation now, and have been for a couple of hours...

The SAME thing happened earlier this week on Tuesday 1/21, with the same results (evacuation, delays, diversions.) Sounds like they need some good electricians...

OPNLguy....where did you get that information from?? There used to be a website from the old TWA crew site that had that information in that exact form...but all I get to see is the OIS site provided by the FAA....If there's a link could you please email it to me.

Try: http://www.dispatcher.org/brief/adfbrief.html and look for #15A and when you get there, click on "products" and select "advisories database" from the pull-down menu... The advisory displayed will be the most current, and if that's not the one you're looking for, there's a selection button at the bottom of that screen that will list all the advisories for that day... (BTW, that's "day" as in "zulu" day)

The fire alarm was going off last night for 2 hours...from 11p.m. to 1a.m. there were fire trucks, police etc. all around last night..all that for a short in the system.

Well the DTW control tower is connected to the midfield terminal. The fire alarm still goes off to this day in the midfield terminal somewhere on the grounds at least once a week.

It was really lovely when it went off while I was down by International arrivals when Northwest Flight 12 and 86 both were in from NRT along with Flight 67 from AMS and 51 from FRA all at the same time. They close security down while the alarm is going off, well the alarm went off for 10 minutes, you should have seen how international connections security got backed up.

That alarm is so loud and obnoxious... all these white strobes go off and there is a loud siren with a recorded voice saying "an emergency has been reported in this building" or something like that.

It sounds like it's the same one we have. If you'll listen to that recording with your eyes closed, you'll notice that the man's voice is the one that did one half of the "red zone/white zone" gag in the original "Airplane" movie...
