Another Boeing Without Fly-by-wire?

Sun Jan 26, 2003 7:48 am

Just wondering, with all the technology now, what do you think the aircraft Boeing produce from now will be? Fly-by-wire, or not? And will they get rid of the control column and use a joystick or not?

I'm sure it will be the same set-up as the 777. Fly by wire with standard yoke.
I'm not a real aeronautical engineer, I just play one on Airliners.net.

As boeing nut said it will have the same set up as the 777. Does anyone no more about this new aircraft for the 250 seat widebody market??

I'd put a vote in the FBW column.

They _need_ to enhance commonality amongst their types. The Boeing Common Cockpit is a step in the right direction.

Airbus claims that every Airbus plane, from the A318 to the A380, will fly very similarly. It may be neither true nor feasible, but it wins orders.
