CO's Peter Max Makes It's Film Debut...

Sun Jan 26, 2003 10:19 am

Getting home this morning after 3 days on the road and before turning in for a couple of hours, I switch on the ol 'idiot box' (tv) and did a little channel surfing. For about 10 seconds I settled on a Van Damme flick (The Order <2001>), when low and behold what do I see but CO's very own Peter Max taxing by with an LY 742 in the background. The airport I suspect was TLV as the film was made in Israel. Not being much of a Van Damme fan, I switched it off and hit the hay, still I though some here might have been interested in this little tid bit of trivial triva.

Hey, you never know, it might show up as Trivial Persuit (30th aniv) question one day!

I believe that they use to (and possibly still do) fly from EWR.

Continental currently flies EWR-TLV daily with a 777.

Continental flies daily to TLV from EWR only, on a 777. At one point, a second flight was planned and then briefly operated in the summer of 2000 but given the political situation there and the conflict, CO scaled it back. Today, CO is the only scheduled US airline flying to Israel. Delta briefly operated a JFK-TLV flight in the summer of 2001 on an MD11, TWA pulled out of the JFK-TLV market after it was acquired by AA which had no interest in flying there, and the only other US carrier that served Israel was Tower Air, and it no longer exists.
