Aircraft's You Hope To Fly

Wed Jan 29, 2003 10:50 pm

I hope to fly some types I've never flown before :

Boeing ( 757-300 , 747-400ER , 737-900 & 747-400ER )

Airbus ( 340-600 , 330-300 )

What types do you hope to fly ?

Regards .

Some rare ones still missing from my collection:
707
747SP
DC-8
BAC 1-11
Concorde

I guess I won't get a chance to fly with them one day...  Sad

I see better chances for these ones:
B777
A340
MD-11
MD-90
B717
A310
DC-3 (still a couple of them around, even in Europe)
Ju-52 (LH Historic Flight)

I'd like to fly again on the L10 - my last flight on a TriStar was in 1993 - but I doubt this will happen.  Sad

Don't really care about Russian aircraft types... although this does NOT mean that I think they are unsafe.

Im not going to name all the Jumbo's like everyone else, Im thinking along a more practical line...

Beechcraft Bonanza
Cessna 210
King Air
EMB-135*

(Hopefully in chronological order!)

*Then is I make it that far, not having been layed off or something, fly for the regionals on CRJ's until maybe I make it to the Big Leagues  Big thumbs up

VC-10, (have to be RAF so no real chance there), 707, DC-8, any Convairs that get restored, IL-62, IL-18, Connie, DC-props, though I've flown on a DC-3, L-188, Twin Otter, Dash 7.
Though I've flown on Concorde 5 times, I plan to again, maybe an AF one this time.

Concorde, of course, but it is a dream.

To be realistic, I would like to try the only 2 types of western jets I have never tried:
777 and 747.

There is a good chance I will discover Emirates 777 mid Feb.

There are 3 jets I would have been happy to fly: the Comet, the Mercure and the Trident.

I have always wanted to fly an old 707, however that may be impossible to do these days, but I can still wish. If some one were to offer that kind of service in the America's I would jump on it.

Wow, you spotter types really need to make the difference between "fly" and "ride on." Two very very different things. Such as, this weekend, I will fly a Beech Duchess. Next time I go to the east coast, I will ride on some type of airliner.

Aaaaaaah, I was so glad to see somebody FINALLY point it out. As someone who has worked in this industry for years, it is so grating to hear someone say "aircrafts". i.e. "How many aircrafts are there?"

The plural form of aircraft is aircraft - i.e. 'The aircraft is at the gate'; 'Delta flies over 500 aircraft'; 'That aircraft is a Boeing 737'; 'Those aircraft are Boeing 737s'.

Also - a comma infers possesion or contraction. I.e. ....

correct - 'There are 42 MD80s in the fleet.'

incorrect - 'There are 42 MD80's in the fleet.'
(42 MD80s what?)

Just my spouting for the day..........

I've flown on these:

Embraer Bandierante
Shorts 330
Convair 540/640
Dash 7
Dash 8-100
Dash 8-300
Canadair CRJ-200
Fokker F28-1000 (I vow NEVER to go on these EVER again!! They are horrible!!)
BAe 146-200 (those are nice to fly on, believe me)
727-200
737-200, -300, -400
747-100, -200, -400
767-200
DC-9-30
DC-9-40
DC-10-30
Lockheed L-1011 (Fine flying machines! Big grin )
A300B4
A320
A319

And those I want to fly on in the future:
717
737-600, 700, 800, or 900
747-400LR (these have a 777-style interior)
757-200 or -300
767-300
777-200, or -300
A318
A321
A330 - any variant
A340 - any variant
CRJ-700 or -900
Dash 8-Q400

The good news is that I will definitely be able to fly on the 767-300, A321 and the A330 for the first time this year! Big grin

RE: Aircraft's You Hope To Fly

Well my dream would be out of college to fly the Dash-8Q400 for Horizon and eventually retire from Alaska Airlines as a 737-400/200QC (or whatever QC they have at that time) and split a DHC-2 Beaver with a friend and open a fishing outfitters in SE Alaska. As a passenger ive always wanted to ride one of my fav planes, the 727. I've also always had a yearning to fly a Spitfire, Hurricane, Typhoon, or a Gladiator, I love WWII RAF Aircraft. Thats it for me (I'll ride in anything that passes its annual and i've preflighted and am taking part in the checklists)
