For this moment, I hope very hard that they will land at RWY02 tomorrow (like they did this afternoon). When this happens, I will see it landing in front of my window...

Guys, I'll try to be there, but don't blame me if it lands on another runway than the one I'm standing on (i.e. 25L - 25R as always).

By the way, I'd love to see this bird, especially now everything is covered by snow. I'll let you guys know if I made it or not...

I won't be able to check this site again, but should you know the exact landing runway, I think it would be best to contact Sabena 690 for example. He has my cellphone number so he'd be able to contact me before the aircraft comes in. Now let's cross our fingers, shall we?

Thanks for the news anyway!

@Ivan:

I leave within 15 minuts to school, so contacting me will not help...

Estimated arrival time at the moment is 16.15h, so no delay.
Flight nr: SN6002, from Amsterdam

Sabena 690: OK, no problem. I just didn't want to put my cellphone number over here. Let's just cross our fingers and hope it'll land on 25L, becausez that's probably the place I'm going to be at, near the refugee center (just to take some pics with the snow, you know what I mean  Wink/being sarcastic ).

Hello Frederic,

I'm back!!!!!!

I will be there. MD11er and co.. will be there also. The aircraft is supposed to be parked in front of hangar 41 so there's a good chance that the 25L will be used (contrary to the 25R as first believed) That's where I'll be.

Good hunting guys.......

Hi guys,

I went to BRU, but apparantly I missed the aircraft. Since most aircraft were landing on 25R, I drove to there but I didn't see it land. I left at about 16h50 and drove to the Abelag/SN House place and drove near the old Satellite, but I didn't see the aircraft. All I saw was an SN A330, a B767 (of a company I can't remember) and a blue TUI aircraft (could this be an SLR aircraft?).

Too bad. I didn't get to read A330DAT's post. Maybe I just missed it. Stupid BIAC guys. They should stick to 25L for landings, instead of some aircraft landing on 25R when it's convenient and others on 25L.

Anyhow, I still was able to shoot a few pics. Let's hope that some of them make it to Airliners.net huh? Big grin

Hello everyone,

The aircraft will only land at around 19.00.
So Apuneger I came to tell you but apparetly you were already gone. the SNBA pilots where supose to fly the ac from AMS to BRU and land it on 25R so they can park it in front of Hangar 117 bis (SNBA Hangar).
19.00 is to late and so to dark for good pics, so it will be tomorow in the Hangar.

The A319 did not land at 16:15. The latest is that it is expected at 18:00 and going straight to the DAT (SNBA) hangar, so 25R would also be the likely runway.

The Air Europe 767 is indeed the 4th 767 for Sobelair (to be OO-SLT) and the 737-300 in the Tui colors is the Sobelair OO-SBZ. So far it has the overall blue and the Tui logo on the tail but no Sobelair titles.

The all white Electra 757 was also present outside the hangars. (has been there a while)

Inside hangar 41 is the A340-300 of AirLib (AOM) with blue belly. Thanks for the info MD-11er.

cheers

MD-11er: Thanks for the information. The info about the delay certainly calmed down my mind. Until now I was blaming myself for standing at the wrong runway. So, at least now I know it just got delayed...

A330DAT: Thanks for the info about those aircraft.

Can't wait to shoot all those birds on a SUNNY DAY WITHOUT SNOW AND ALL AIRCRAFT LANDING ON RWY 25L!!!  Pissed  Pissed (sorry, just had to do this  Smile/happy/getting dizzy )

Hi,

Thanks to the guy(s?) who took the pics in snowy Schiphol. Now, about the livery: I think it's a quite distinctive one, i.e. not just a cheap Euro-white livery à la Air France (sorry, no offence, but that's the way it is...). On the other hand, the 'abrupt' ending of the blue belly bothers me. Why didn't they just extend it to the nose? Afraid they would end up with a 70's livery? Or why didn't they decide to paint the whole aircraft in that colour? Maybe too Tui, Korean or KLM? Who knows?

Guess we'll just have to live with it, won't we? I'd give it a 6.5 on a scale from one to ten. Maybe I'll give it a higher rate once I get used to it (probably will Big grin )

Hi guys,

Went to the hangar yesterday to visit and photograph the aircraft  Love

Took a lot of pica but the quality is really poor as it was to dark in hangar.
Today the plane stood outside for the hole day but didn't have the time to go back.
Tomorrow or later in the week maybe  Smile/happy/getting dizzy

Speaking about the color sheme.
It's real nice, I only have 3 remarks that I find a little pity but that's my personal opinion.

- They should have continued the lila color until the front of the aircraft or no lila at all
- They engines should remain dark blue (color of the tail), and not lila an with the S logo on it like on the AVRO's and A333.
- They should have put the S logo on the winglet just as SN putted the Marguerite bird on their logo

For the rest the aircraft looks pretty nice and is very clean inside  Smile/happy/getting dizzy

I took 15 pics similar to yours, Sabenapilot.
They are nice but you have the same problem as I have, to dark and so also to blury.
I will try to go back tomorrow and hope it will be standing outside again.

Another issue on SNBA ...

Found this in the daily news mail of "Kanaal Z":

SNBA has suffered a loss of 100 mio EURO during 2002.
This result is "better" than what had been stated by the business plan, however worse than what president Kuypers had predicted last September.
Perhaps new code share agreements will be announced in the upcoming days.

Maiden flight done today BRU - HEL - BRU.
Nothing special. No special event for that ( times are hard enough ).

T/O out of BRU at 07.35 L.T; About 50 pax on board; smooth flight; good service. Arrival before sched. at HEL; short rotation time 40' min still based on standard rot. time for the RJ's.

Departure out of HEL on time ... and same for the arrival at BRU.
Comfort on board vs RJ's is by far superior of course.
All efforts from SNBA to get the CN ( certificate of navigation ) from the Belgian Civil Aviation Authority finally paid. At a certain time, they were thinking to re-schedule the maiden flight because of that.

New aircraft coming soon and last one (nbr 3) arriving somewhere in March.

Cheers,

Pat

Kenny, that is correct.

Some of us may not be fully aware yet that the A.net engineers have recently installed a very smart java script(?). => When you put your mouse cursor on top of an abbreviated airport or airline code, a question mark will appear and (after one second) the script will provide you with the full airport/airline information. Well done!

@Edwin: do it with my post above, and you will see that it does not work. It only works for the new made postings since that this feature is added.

@SN-A330: yes it is very nice! In the beginning I had also problems with all those abbreviations, I know (after one pleasant year on a.net Big grin) already a lot of them, but it is still very handy for the ones I don't know yet...

Off the record: second A319 is in paintshop I believe...

It may have been a rough day for SN today.
Due to fog at BRU this morning, several planes had to divert to other airports.
I briefly glanced over the arrivals (BIAC) and noticed that several of the diversions had gone to CRL.
