Does anybody know on which routes Turkmenistan Airlines operates its 717?
Do they fly the 717 to western europe countries?

I didn't find any Turkmenistan 717 Operations loaded in the CRS so far. How many 717 should they have/get? Are they leased?

Turkmenistan operates 3 717's. They appear to be owned.

I dumped at the gybe mark in strong winds when I looked up at a Porter Q400 on finals. Can't stop spotting.

To answer your question: No.
They are used on shorts-hauls, domestic and around the region.

T5 operates the 717 on the following routes:

Ashghabad-Tashkent
Ashghabad-Turkmenabat
Ashghadad-Dashogus
Ashghabad-Turkmenbashi

One of my buds services this aircraft when it visits Tashkent.

An interesting sidenote, T5 doesn't seem to take passenger safety very seriously. On their 717s there is not a single safety card on board the aircraft for the use by passengers. Especially interesting, as T5 operates the aircraft to Tashkent, and under international aviation laws, is supposed to provide such material on their flights.

The 717s are owned by the airline, and were gotten for a very cheap price because of some deal done between Niyazov (who likes to style himself as Turkmenbashi) and the American government.

Whilst I doubt they would make it to airliners.net standards, I will ask my contacts in Turkmenistan tourism business to take some photos of the 717 next time they fly on them. Although, don't know if they will be successful, as it is still illegal to take photos at Ashghabad Airport.

Are their not-so-old Yak-42D withdrawn from use ?
