Birmingham International Airport has won the title of ‘Best Business Terminus’ for the fifth time in nine years. At the Business Travel World magazine awards in London, the Airport beat runner-up London City and Waterloo International–Eurostar to win the accolade.
The judges awarded Birmingham the title because of the clear progress it had made over the past twelve months. This included adding eleven new destinations and the completion of improved access roads for travellers by car. The judges felt that business travellers were particularly well catered for at BIA and that the Airport had clearly given a good deal of thought to providing for their needs.
The award was voted for by members of the travel industry and was collected at a special ceremony at Grosvenor House, London. The Airport’s Business Development Director Peter Vella, said, “We are delighted to receive this award. Winning the title for another year is a major achievement for Birmingham International Airport and a recognition of our commitment to providing the business traveller with an ever-improving service”.
Last year, eleven new destinations were added to Birmingham’s scheduled timetable, Alicante, Athens, Beauvais (Paris), Bordeaux, Geneva, Karachi, Lahore, Malaga, Nice, Turin and Venice.
