AA Bankruptcy Looking More Likely...

Fri Jan 31, 2003 7:39 pm

hi folks

I just read an article saying that shares in AA parent company AMR. Corp.
fell to an all-time low on 29.Jan. 2003* as a gloomy economic outlook and fears of bankruptcy at the world largest airline scared off investors, Wall
Street analysts said.

I didn't know that AA was financily so unstable.  Sad

This article can be found on http://www.airlinequality.com/news/american.htm

I don't know how they can avoid it. Unless the unions can work something out, which is doubtful.

Yup AA could be next, followed by Continental, Northwest, and Delta. I hope they will all pull through including United.

AMR makes bigger loss then UAL, that's a surprise.

I'm not rubbing it in at all, but American is suffering from the same reality shock as United did 2 months ago. Until the 11th hour, United refused to believe it could actually file...then it had to, and was a real wake up call, a proverbial slap in the face to all of us at UAL. I see the same thing happening with American. We will both survive chapter 11 (assuming AA does file), smaller but stronger.

A"American we are; //// U N I T E D we shall rise
