As I progress through the monotony and grief of accounting at York University in Toronto, my dreams of becoming an airline pilot have not subsided. However in the mean time, I would like to enroll in the CGA (Certified General Accounting) program this year. That means I will need a full time job, and would like to start working in the fall. The CGA program requires the student take specific courses and work through the levels of the program. It also requires 3 years of full time employment (they say sometimes 2 is enough though, go figure), with very specific requirements in the workplace. I think I'd be happiest working in an accounting related position in either the aviation or automotive industries, rather than a company in any other industry.
My question to you all is, what are the prospects for somebody like me to get a job related to this in the Toronto area for an airline, or other transportation company in the fall of this year? I frequently see these types of jobs for Westjet in Calgary, but haven't been able to find anything for any of the others, including Air Canada, SkyService, Air Transat, Jetsgo, etc etc. I might have to move to Calgary, and take advantage of their lack of a provincial sales tax, their growing economy, and the growing air traffic at YYC International Airport!
Maybe I'll even buy myself a snowmobile and be a real Canadian!
