'Airliners' Magazine New Issue One Of The Best

Fri Feb 07, 2003 6:25 am

Like everyone else, I have been patiently awaiting my first issue of 'Airline Review"' magazine. However, today, in my mailbox, comes my bi-monthly reminder of why 'Airliners' magazine is the best one going:

1) 12-page article on Hughes Airwest/AirWest (Part 2 of series on Pacific/West Coast/AW and RW)
2) article written by our friend Joe Pries on his photography hobby, and some samples
3) article on AMI's DC-8 (featured on a.net)
4) article on Arrow Air
5) another Robert Serling essay
6) article on TWA's JetStars
7) AS's 'Spirit of Disneyland' page
8) 'Tailpieces' features a blurb about some 13-year lost luggage that belonged to a state governor

The next issue features SAN-Lindbergh Field.

For the Dutch people over here, where can i find this magazine nowadays? I had a shop (called 'Bruna') at the Eindhoven Railway Station, where they selled them. A seller told me, that that magazine was a best-seller over there.
But at this moment, the do not have the magazine anymore. But is there another shop around who is selling them? (at a railway station preferable)

tnx!

I really enjoy airliners magazine. They seem to do more research than other magz, printing stories about airlines of yesteryear, acommpanied by hard to find photos, instead of reprinting company press releases and photos of a/c we could all see at our local airports or at least this webapge. For my modern airliner coverage i much prefer ATW.
When in doubt, one B pump off

"Airliners" is finding a great niche for themselves, with multiple historical pieces in every issue. It makes for a great read -- and it's fascinating.

"Airways," on the other hand, which seems to focus more on news, is almost irrelevant and out of date every time it's published, thanks to Airliners.net and the wealth of news on this forum.

I cannot agree more... Airliners is simply the best aviation magazine so far, but too bad it is the most expensive (for me, in Singapore) to subscribe to...

I must say Airliners is a prety good magazine - good historical and recent articles and prety good photography, the only bad part of the magazine is that its bi monthly. I consider Airways a prety good magazine -its a monthly magazine sometimes with articles on airlines usually overseen .

Garuda

I can certainly sympathise about the price. They are bloody expensive here in Aussie too.

Yeah, I went to BORDERS, just sat and read it. Was just a typical Airliners, they are all real good, this one wasn't any better or worse... maybe even a little more boring. I would NEVER buy it at that price.
