WestJet Revenue Passenger Miles Increase 51.8%
CALGARY, ALBERTA--WestJet announced its traffic statistics for
January 2003 today, featuring a 51.8% increase in revenue
passenger miles (RPMs) to 305,219,777, up from 201,025,929 in
January 2002. Available seat miles (ASMs) grew 61.4% to
497,982,155 in January of 2003, up from 308,608,026 in January of
2002. WestJet's load factor for January 2003 was 61.3% compared
with 65.1% in January of 2002.
Clive Beddoe, WestJet's President, CEO and Executive Chairman,
commented this morning: "We are pleased with our January traffic
results and the nominal 3.8 percentage-point decline in load
factor in the face of a dramatic 61.4% increase in capacity
during this traditionally slow period for travel in Canada."
Their flights to sun AND ski destinations are doing really well. Glad they are diversifying and continuing to do well.
