Qantas To Chicago?

Thu Feb 13, 2003 2:27 am

When is this starting? I looked it up on the QF website, but the flights don't seem to be in yet?

What days does it operate?

I've been trying to fish out the copy of Airline Business which had the relevant details - can't find it now.

Believe it said something like March 31st, thrice weekly via LAX.

Is QF's new service to ORD actually operated by QANTAS as a "tag-on" to their LAX service or will it be via a code-share connection to One World partner AA from LAX?

No, it's a tag-on. Qantas will deploy the 744ER on the route. Chicago spotters get to see a Qantas jet.

Found the article: only thing to add is that it's a MEL-LAX-ORD service.

If they are flying ORD, whens the DFW service start?

DFW was never given a date, in fact I think they were going to do the AKL DFW flight but that sorta got canned for the ORD flights from LAX. This really does add the pressure on UA as well going to ORD

And now - stepping up to the plate, a substitution. Chicago in for Dallas.
After some extensive research, ORD was found to offer much more than a DFW service could/would, so DFW is off the table, presumably for some time.
DFW was *never* firm and was never recognised as a "probable" by QF at any stage.
Cheers.
