What Airline/ Aircraft Has/had Best Livery Fit?

Thu Feb 13, 2003 5:43 am

Rephrase with more room...

Throughout airline history, there have been aircraft that seemed to naturally fit the airline livery.

For example, I think the L10-11 and Eastern were a great match. This aircraft seemed to naturally fit EA's livery.

TWA and the Connie as well.

What would others vote for?

I think BA's "Landor" scheme is/was just perfect for the 777:

I adored LY's old livery on all their Boeings, from the 707 to the 744...but the 757 had something special

I bitterly miss the livery that should never have been changed (repetition...)

I like many others wondered how BWIA new livery would look on the MD83 as it seem a little bit too much for the MD83 but they fit nicely

Delta's old colours goes so well with the gracefulness of the MD-11. Absolutely wicked.

Cathay's livery also meshes very well with the A340, especially in great light conditions as the picture below illustrates.

Emirates' colours look fantastic on the A330-200. Perfect fit.

How could you forget this scheme? These are the quintessential commercial aviation images, in my opinion:
