Hello:

I will never let you know about something the special or unusual flight. Because I know that all A.net members who do not like the hearing impaired grammars is not perfectly. Well, You are not interesting in my username also some others. You never response or reply my topic. If I see something important and I will not reply it to you. How would you feel about it? I am so tired of it. Many times I posted my own topic and never reply it. Why would you do that? Do you think I am loser or dumbass? It's not true. I am damnest hard of hearing and cannot hear at all! I can't hear everything. How would I get perfectly grammars from hearing people speaking?

You should think about WE ARE IN THE AIRLINERS.NET FORUM to talk about everything about something unusual route, jets, or anything. We must enjoy to read or talk about it. You cannot criticized other's loser or lousy grammars or how dumb it is. I am not stupid as deaf it is.  Angry OK?

Later,

That's cool for Muskegon. I'm always interested when my local airport, Hamilton Airport (YHM) in Ontario gets any type of traffic be it a Cessna 172, Learjet or Airbus 320. It's nice to see the small guy get some of the action once in a while. Continue to post and don't worry about what others think.

The biggest problem with Muskegon is the relatively short runways, and the competition from the larger Grand Rapids GR Ford Intl Airport (GRR), which is only 40 miles southeast of town.

It -very- rarely sees 737-type of equipment, that's for sure!

Dept. of Ancient History: I believe United operated 737-200's into Muskegon briefly from ORD and CLE in the early 80's before they dropped service to the city.

How large is Muskegon's population today and back when it was briefly served by UAL?

BTW, Big777jet, don't worry too much about your grammar. I can understand what you're writing just fine.

Big777,
What is wrong with you?? I don't really quite understand what you are so pissed about. I post topics all the time that no body responds too. If that is what you are worried about, DON'T..Especially topics like this one where it is more informational..We all appreciate hearing about unsual flights, and thanks for posting it. As far as your grammar, I never have a problem understanding what you are talking about. Bottom line, don't worry if people reply or not, the world is way to small to worry about those things  Big thumbs up..Plus look at your Respect rating, enough said.

Stuart –

Thank you for the information. I guess the Ryan Intl Boeing 737-800 took some local Muskegon-ites for a gambling junket in Vegas.

Don’t worry about the initial no replies. We are all enthusiasts of aviation in one way or another. Many of us are spotters and enjoy hearing about unusual type operations at an airport – and a Boeing 737-800 is certainly an unusual visitor at Muskegon.

Once again, thank you for the info

Samurai 777-

I believe that Muskegon is only marginally larger today than it was 20 years ago.. (from 150,000 to 170,000 people). There has been a good number of new housing starts (etc), but a lot of industry that was in the area in the early 1980's boarded up and left (like many other industrial cities). It is not nearly as economically affluent as Grand Rapids is.

They are trying very hard to change the image of the city from an industrial to a touristy area (similar to Traverse City / Ludington / Manistee). The sooner the better; it was always a dirty town when I was growing up.

FlyingTexan- It was a charter gambling trip (like you said). When I was in MKG airport a couple of weeks ago, they had some literature floating around

Guys-

Alright, Thanks for telling me about this. I usually posted in the past most of time but nobody replied about my topic often. I don't know why. So, maybe some reason it is unimportant or who cares. I guess. Next time, I will have to little more be patient until a couple of days to see if there are more replies. Thanks for your comments.

Theiler, that population quote would be for Muskegon County, not city/township.

AZO- I'm aware of that. I was speaking for demographic purposes, as it is the only airport in the county.

I'm positive that population growth within the City of Muskegon (not Hts., Norton Shores, etc) is even less than the county-wide average. Cities like Montague, Whitehall and Norton Shores have really provided the "bulk" of any growth.

Traverse City has ALWAYS been a tourist city. It is now just beginning to get more industrial.

As far as Muskegon jet traffic, its few and far between. Mostly charters, and then, not that many. They have had an A320 before taking gamblers to Las Vegas. They have had UPS 747 and 767 for the airshow also. Yes, a 747.... On 6500ft, not bad.

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/airportsofmichigan/ to see the A320 at MKG.

Hey,
I see billboards around Muskegon every once in a while advertising charters to Las Vegas. It looks like they are chartered by a travel agency.

About MKG competing with GRR..... I remember hearing something a while back about Muskegon county having to guarantee Northwest that their passenger numbers would go up to keep NW flying there. Does anyone else remember hearing something of this sort?

That probably happens at a lot of airports.
