Significant 2003 Order: Air New Zealand?

Sat Feb 15, 2003 10:22 am

This comes from Yahoo! Groups: Orders.

One of the post mentioned that Airbus representative in Avalon Air Show this month says there will be 2 Significant orders in 2003.

1 is Air India
1 is Air New Zealand

Are there any signs showing Air New Zealand prepares to make wide-body order this year?

Air India (assuming the Indian civil service can't think of any more obstacles) should be making its order this year, but it won't be for Airbus. 777s are in the lead . . .

Air NZ may well do so and I would think, given (a) its links with QF, a 332 operator, (b) that it's already ordered 32Xs, and (c) that some of its major regional competitors - Air Calin, Air Pacific and Air Tahiti Nui - are operating Airbus widebodies that it will look very favourably at 332s.

However, there should be more A380 orders this year as well . . .

Are these Airbus reps spouting at the mouth again like they were when they said if United pulls out of their current state they will make a big A380 order?
