The same blizzard that's impacting the DC area is moving north into the NYC area... The really heavy snow is forecasted to start about 5 hours from now, at about 06Z. If they don't get in and out of JFK before then, they could be there awhile since the place looks to be impacted most all of Monday...

I wonder why that flight is still listed under all the flight trackers. Gulf Air hasn't operated into JFK for years.

All DC area aiports are closed, PHL is not technically closed but all flights have been cancelled until an unknown time, they only operated 25% of the flts today. There talkin 24-30 inches of snow for the Philly area. And now as the storm approaches NYC i'm sure the NY area airports will eventually be closed or see major delays.

As I write this, EWR, LGA, and JFK all have 6 inches on the ground with snow increasing at the rate of 1 inch per hour, and it's still coming down. It's been snowing in the DC area for nearly 18 hours now, and that's about what they have on the ground there.

If the weather system moves northward as indicated in the various progs at the link below, the NYC area could be impacted both Monday -and- Tuesday, with accumulations measured in feet versus inches.

If you all like to see graphical forecast, you all may enoying playing around with the new graphical forecast that the NWS is starting to use. It is call IFPS. The following link is from the Baltimore/ Washington DC NWS office.

GF ran a Bahrain-Cyprus (I forgot if it was LCA or NIC)-JFK-IAH service in the late 90s, though the IAH-JFK portion lasted less than a year. I believe that JFK was cut some months later.
