Ex UA 747 Spotted, Whose Is It Now?

Thu Nov 18, 1999 11:27 am

There was a fly-by today of what appeared to be an ex-United 747-100 or -200 at MSY. The fuselage was painted in the new United colors, as was about half the vertical stabilizer. No one on the ground knew who it had belonged to, and none of us thought to call the tower.

Anybody out there know who this mysterious 747 belongs to. Me and a UA ground-crew buddy thought it might be a NASA aircraft, but in checking current registration lists, this seems unlikely.

Thanks for anybody's help.
