No. I’ve only flown first on short/medium haul domestic. Its not worth it to me and I’m 6’3”….now, I’m sure international long haul is different.

Of course, I usually fly Southwest or COEX. No F/C there!!!  Smile

I dont personally think its worth it. Business is well sufficient but thats just my opinion. I have flown BA & QF business and very good both.

I do not think First is really worth the drastic price increase. I fly business class on long haul flights and have really enjoyed it. Especially now that alot of airlines are improving the business class sections with lie flat seats, etc. If the price of First Class was not much more that Business than it would definetly be worth it.

Like most people have been saying: longhaul yes, shorthaul no. Yesterday, as I was connecting through Atlanta, I saw people buying $50 upgrades into first class of a DL MD-80 going to CHS. Flight time is listed as 0:58, so you know actual flight time is far shorter. Made me crazy. Oh well.....

If someone else (i.e. your company) is picking up the ticket price, or if you are cashing in FF miles, then sure it is. But is it worth it if it is out of your pocket? Is $1000 for a few extra inches and a meal worth it? Probably not.

Before Delta pulled the MD-11s off ATL-DFW, they were offering $40 upgrades into Business class. While this is only a 90 minute flight, I believe the upgrade is worth it. The Business class seats along with the extra room, PTVs, and free booze, I feel it was a worthwhile investment.

Well, I can't care. My company only produced a 9.2 billion dollars profit last year, so all roughly 86,000 employees must fly economy class whenever possible. The company rules say so, so I haven't got the choise.

Personally I have no problem spending $1k company money on a decent hotel and good restaurant meals rather than an airline upgrade. It's simply more value for money that way.
