Heh CB, I bet he actually has a reason for disliking the A340
I'm sure he does... there are plenty!
Are they serious about re-engining existing 777s?
According to Flight International, Air&Space, and a few other sources they are.... but only if they order some of the 777NGs, which they are expected to. What helps is that they've had quite a few problems with the Trent892/Metco ordeal, and lord knows the Trent890 is no great engine for dry/hot -200ER operation.
That seems like it would be horribly expensive
Um, since when did EK
ever care about that??
It is kinda sad that airlines like UA USAir etc have to care about being profitable
True, but I predict that some moron here will still say something along the lines of "well, why cant UA
& US have service like EK
does??" within the the next hour.......
By the way does airbus plan to stop production of the 343 anytime soon since they have the 346
That's like asking Boeing if they plan to stop production on the 73G now that the 739 is out.....
