Can I Check Seat Availability On AA Flights?

Mon Feb 24, 2003 4:32 am

This may have been discussed before but, is there any way for me to check seat availability on AA flights a few months from now. Thanks

I doubt that link gives the "true" availability. You'd have to know an AA employee who could check the "real" numbers for you. There are two figures you would be interested in; 1) actual seats available (i.e. unsold seats on the aircraft), and 2) authorized availability (i.e. gives a prediction of the no-show rate).
Last year 1,944 New Yorkers saw something and said something.

Some of that inventory is hidden and available ONLY to the airlines themselves.

However, here's a couple of good resources that will give you the best possible view an outsider can get of fare class inventory:

1) http://flyaow.com/classamex.htm
This will use ITN for displaying inventory. It's typicaly very accurate and very real time, but limited as far as the classes it will display.

2) http://cyber.law.harvard.edu/people/edelman/travel/galileo/frame.html
This feeds across to Galileo. Not as accurate for some real-time issues but it will display more fare classes and you can specify certain fare classes.
