Ryanair To Start Five New Routes

Thu Feb 27, 2003 9:21 pm

From March 30:
Dublin-Faro: 2x weekly
Dublin-Girona: 1x weekly
Dublin-Malaga: 3x weekly
Frankfurt Hahn-Malmo Sturup: daily

From May 30:
Dublin-Blackpool: daily

It will however give up its Frankfurt Hahn-Perpignan route on March 29.

Interesting to see Ryanair starting weekend only services and serving high cost airports such as Malaga or Faro.

They won't be high cost if Ryanair have decided to fly there!

These are the first non daily routes Ryanair have launched in a long time, and fly in the face of Ryanairs attack on high landing costs in Dublin.

Considering that Ryanair were critical of Buzz's less than weekly schedules to france and Spain, this is an interesting move...

They use aircraft from the DUB base which have very little business on Saturday afternoon / sunday mornings - as they, thanks to the dispute with Aer rianta, almost exclusively fly to U.K. destinations. Seems to me just a move to improve utilisation of the fleet. And no, I don't think that FR has been able to strike a cheap deal at FR), Portugal">FAO or AGP - fares start at 88.99 € one-way plus tax.....

Also Girona-Dublin is extremely expensive! 245€ rountrip including taxes!...
anyway, I'm looking for tickets for a friend who wants to go to Dublin in July, and I'm unable to find cheaper fares from "expensive" airlines.

*ouch* those fares are expensive! I hope they don't pull those tricks here at STN.

Also IB (About 140€ ), but with limitation to fly before April and max 14 Days.

Girona airport (Cassà de la Selva) is about 100Km. from Barcelona, and as far as I know, there is no direct transport from there...

Twice Daily to Newcastle from April, doubling frequency on the route they started in January.
Anyone else think those Ryanair flights to Spain might be scheduled "charter" fliights??

I have also heard thet Ryanair have started flights between Oslo (Torp) and Stockholm (Skavstad).
Anybody who have some info about this flight?
I guess its a flight that continues to another destination, or is it a 737 that are based at either airport? And maybe most important: is it opperated with 732 or 738?

Ryanair will operate two daily flights from Stockholm Skavsta to Oslo Torp beginning in early April with B737-800s based at their Skavsta base. Ryanair doesn't have any (scheduled) one-stop flights at all.

In other news, it also announced it would launch a daily flight between Hamburg Luebeck and Pisa on May 1. It is planning to resume flights on the current Buzz route between London Stansted and Berlin Schoenefeld the same date but it reportedly wants to transfer the Berlin flights to the former DDR government airport in Neuhardenberg (about 60kms east of Berlin) as soon as possible.
