New Mesa, Arizona Airline

Mon Mar 03, 2003 12:32 pm

was just bouncing around on justplanes.com, and was looking at their aviation news page, and it stated that European Transair will begin charter operations to Mexico and the Caribbean from the unused Mesa, Arizona airport in Aug 03 using a mix Boeing 737/767 aircraft, and ATR's as feeders. Hoax? or has anybody else heard anything else about this.

I can't say no with 100% certainity but to give you an idea of the reliability of justplanes.com....they were reporting route addtionals for National two weeks have the planes had been parked.

Loose translation...be careful of what you believe on that site.

SWEET! That would be awsome. They just built a new terminal or terminal gates area in order to intice airlines to fly there. the only airline service that i have heard rumored is jetBlue. this was about two years ago or so

Wait, wasn't there a rumor a few years ago when the terminal was first built that WN was going to put a few flights into Williams Gateway because they weren't going to be able to expand enough at Sky Harbor and to further the market share in Phoenix

There would need to a lot of growing in what is laughingly called the "east valley" before an airline could operate form Williams with large aircraft. I could almost imagine Mesa operating RJ service to LAX, DEN and DFW. I've been to "Willie" countless times and I assure you it is not a pleasant drive.
