Fresno (FAT) is continuing its growth string that started last year with a number of new flights, increased frequencies, and larger equipment notices. Passenger growth continues to outperform most of the nation.
Coming on the heels of last year is news that AA will increase FAT-DFW to 3 flights per day on June 14th. All flights will operate with the Super 80s.
AA just permanently increased this route from 1 to 2 RTs daily in April 2002. The market quickly absorbed the capacity. The loads and yields have proven to be stronger than expected, leading to the new third flight. While the route had seen 2X daily in the past (usually seasonally), there has never been 3RTs daily.
This is the first of a number of increased capacity and new service announcements coming at FAT in the next few months.
