Why The ORD Diversions On 3/3

Tue Mar 04, 2003 10:58 pm

I was just looking at inbound flights at IND on flytecomm, looks like American and United had some ORD bound planes diverted to Indy (I saw like 4 for United and 3 for American)

What was going on up there. I see that as of right now (9am Eastern, Tuesday morning, 3/4) there is still one of the AA F100 diversions sitting down at IND, I have to go by there in a little bit so hopefully I will get to see (I was saddened that the AA 738 already left, oh well, the airport is already overrun with TZ 738s)

It was snowing fairly hard for a bit yesterday here in Chicago, maybe there were some weather problems at ORD?

Most likely flow control due to the snow we had here last night.

ORD was ground stopped until 830pm last night due to snow.

RFD got three UA aircraft last night as well. Look for more ORD diversions tonight.

Expect more of the same tonight if we get the 4 to 8 inches of snow that is expected.
