BAE- 146, A318, 737-600, 717-200

What aircraft would you pick the BAE-16, A318, 717-200 or 737-600.

It doesn't seem like you should compare these aircraft but these aircraft are ment for the same routes.

Depends on the route. but probably for my part of the country either the Bae-146 or 737-600.

...they're all kinnda competitors and manufacturers have done a good job to make them all attractive options.

From "technology innovations" point of view, I'd pick A318. But somehow I still like BAe-146: the old good unique in its kind (a four engined, mounted wings RJ). On the other hand, Boeing's reliability convinces to get A737-600. And the trace of MD is still attracting to 717-200. Hmm...

While they are all in the same class as far a number of passengers, I really don't think they are really for the same routes.

The Bae-146 is not very efficient from a maintenance point of view as it costs more to maintain 4 engines than 2. The engines are also not the most reliable. So on maintenance cost basis I would eliminate the 146.

The 318 is a shortened version of an existing design and thus has a bigger than necessary wing. This makes it very efficient on long thin routes. So if my route map has a lot of long thin routes I would pick the 318.

If I am operating a hub and spoke operation then the 736 or 712 both would be good choices. The 736 has more range for longer routes but most hub routes will fit into the 712's range. I personally like the 2-3 seating so I would go the 712 for the routes. The 712 can also be acquired much sooner.

BAE 146 hands down! I love high wing aircraft!

As a flight attendant, I would have to go with the BAE-146. It is really great. I absolutly hate ALL 737's, and have never flown the A318.

I would have to choose the 737-600 because it offers commonality with the most other aircraft. All models of the 737. It also can perform a variety of operational tasks with higher profitability than the other aircraft mentioned. The 717-200 is a close second place. FA United, why do you hate 737s?
