about Groningen: it says on Groningen Airport's website that Ryanair wil be flying daily; mon-sat with a Bae-146...and sundays w/ 737.

is it possible that Ryanair will use the ex-Buzz a/c for a while??

Just for the record even if we all probably have expected this - Leipzig is not Leipzig/Halle airport (LEJ) but Altenburg (AOC), a former Soviet airport in the middle of nowhere.

KLM-md11: Ryanair will hang on to two of Buzz's 146s according to their press release about the plans for Buzz. Those will certainly be interesting targets for spotters, as Ryanair claims they will repaint ALL of buzz's planes during the downtime in April into full Ryanair colours...

I also heard Rodez would be served with a B737-300.

Blackpool is not in hell.

Not in heaven either. But rather much closer!

Spotterboy, Blackpool is on the North West coast of England. It's a seaside town, with the biggest rollercoaster in the world!

The airport is very small, the only scheduled service before the Ryanair STN and DUB routes were to the Isle of Man.

I wish they'd do a LPL-STN route!

I think it's great news for Blackpool, my local airport! I've never actually flown from it, but my sister often makes the short trip to the Isle Of Man. Britannia also has a service to Alicante, today's flight was shown landing on BBC regional news. The airport has alot of private light aircraft operating from it aswell as certain helicopter services. I hope his encourages more services to European destinations. What do you think of Blackpool's chances of getting someone like easyjet to use it? That's to the people who are familiar with Blackpool of course.

Blackpool is too close to LPL for Easy to fly from it.I wonder if these new FR routes will threaten the rumours that LPL was to become one of the next FR bases?

Rodez is in southern France just over a hundred miles S/W of Lyon.

In line with best FR traditions, out in the middle of nowhere.

STN-PMO (Palermo, Sicily) is a quite long route, it takes 2 hours and 55 minutes for the outbound flight and 3 hours and 5 minutes for the inbound flight. It's not a typical Ryanair route cause it's long and PMO could be considered as an important airport (about 4m of pax per year), not the typical small airport in the middle of no where.

Palermo is a surprise indeed as Trapani, a secondary airport, is a mere 110km by motorway away - close enough for Ryanair to call it Palermo (Skavsta and Hahn are both 110+ km away from Stockholm and Frankfurt).

Interesting to note that Ryanair now has a sizeable operation in the Netherlands. They will now serve Eindhoven, Maastricht and Groningen - plus Laarbruch/Niederrhein is sort of a Dutch airport as well. Wonder if they will also add Enschede in the future.

Bergerac is, by the way, a Buzz destination that was scrapped just the other to be reinstated shortly afterwards (I guess Bergerac airport and the region has sent a bag full of Euro-subsidies over the MOL to ake him change his mind).
