Lufthansa U.S. Departure Terminal Photo In FRA

Fri Mar 07, 2003 12:41 am

This question is for one of you folks who have been here, or are familiar with this item. . .

Enlarge the picture I post just below here. . .then look at the right center of the photo just to the right of the LH 747. . .you'll see half of a fuselage of what looks to be the front end of a DC-8. . .does anyone know what this is and/or what it's used for?

The DC-8 fuselage is the warehouse of the observation deck cafeteria.

I think it's just a mock-up used to amuse the visitors of the viewing deck. Please correct me if I'm wrong...

I remember that until a few years back, it was possible for visitors to enter that front part of the DC-8 and have a look at the cockpit.

Hi Daniel,

last year during a FRA spotter meeting someone of us asked also if it is possible to take a look inside the plane but a Fraport employee told us that it is unfortunately not possible because the cafeteria has now their warehouse inside the DC-8.
