Air France To Be Properly Privatised This Year?

Having read the article it made me wonder why AF wasn't shifted to the private sector during the 90s?The last sentence also leads me to think that this will be delayed again.Why isn't the EU forcing the issue though?

Personally, i dont see it happening this year, with the US and Britain on the brink of taking out Saddam, the time just isnt right.
and besides, if they do try and push ahead, you can expect a lot more strikes by its staff.

It's sad to note that the EU doesnt seem to care about the whole unprivatized carrier issue.
I wonder why they havent said anythign about AF...
you can bet if it was BA in this position the EU would jump right on it!

Good question but why didn't they do it a few years back when the aviation economic climate was better?

I wonder why they havent said anythign about AF...
you can bet if it was BA in this position the EU would jump right on it!
Lol well the EU has been slow on acting over EDF's monopoly in the French market(protected and enforced monopoly).I would rather take the lower electricity prices in the UK regardless of which EU state the supplier is from.
