?s Re Air One

Mon Mar 10, 2003 1:30 am

Is Air One (Italy) classified as a low cost carrier? One of the indicators to me that they may be a LCC is that their 737s (-200/300/400/800) are configured with 3x3 single class seating. Even so Lufthansa, Air Canada and Air Littoral codeshare with Air One, which would seem to say that Air One has established a reputation for a high level of service.

How is Air One's financial performance over the past year? Do they operate charter services as well as their scheduled flights within Italy? (their website shows they fly scheduled routes only within Italy; photos of their aircraft in the a.net data base show their aircraft at many airports in Europe outside of Italy)

Thanks for any info you can provide!

RE:?s Re Air One

AirOne is not a low-cost, nor a low-fare airline, they simply seat pax in an all-economy layout 3+3. It's partner of Miles&More LH program, and act as feeder from Italy for flight to FRA and MUC via LIN and FCO. They usually fly also from MXP to some destination in southern Italy, and are the only airlines in Italy to flight LIN-FCO shuttle against Alitalia. They also operate several charter to various destinations throughout Europe. I don't know exactly their financial status, but I assume they don't have so bad figures. I'll try to get some information about it.

Hope it helps
