What Airlines Hire International Flight Attendants

Tue Mar 11, 2003 2:51 am

Hi
Emirates hires FA's from around the world. Are there other airlines in Europe or Asia who would hire a foreign national for a flight attendant?

I've seen Asian FA's (oriental) on Gulf Air and Emirates. There were also European FA's on some BA flights i've been on. United also has British FA's on their LHR flights as i've seen previously.

I would think any smart airline would hire foreign nationals, especially on international routes where you would need F/As to communicate well with the passengers. For example, on Delta's ATL-GRU route, about half of the F/As are Brazilian for the passengers who can't speak English.

Northwest Airlines has some Japanese FA's because of Northwest Japan-Hub. But only on domestic - routes within Japan and on flights from Japan to City's in Asia.

All major airlines hire F/A around the globe.

To add to above list, Qatar Airways also has on - almost all flights I think- several nationalities represented. During pre take off announcement they announce language spoken and it's more than the "destination-origin" language. e.g french on a DOH - MLE leg.
This should be very appreciated by passengers who don't speak english.

A350-200,

To add to that Qatar Airways have NO Qatari F/As whatsoever. They have people from 55 nationalities. Emirates has an even larger mix.
