Lets Hear It For The Aerospatiale Corvette

Wed Mar 12, 2003 6:48 am

Today we'd call it a RJ, but this small jet from Aerospatiale was not a commercial success when it appeared 30 years ago.
Maybe a bit compromised by also being a corporate jet as well as a small jetliner, it appeared at the wrong time, with the oil crisis and recession then, like many good ideas this caused a lengthened version that was planned, to be axed, this version might have been more attractive to airlines.
But full marks for trying! Being ahead of your time is not always successful, specially in this industry.
